Job DescriptionTaylor and Francis have a vacancy for an Editorial Assistant working on the Education list as a FT permanent employee. Based within our Advanced Learning department, the Editorial Assistant position is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Administrator looking for a great place to work, or for someone with strong administration skills looking for their first role in Publishing.

What you’ll be doing:

Managing schedules for manuscripts under contract and negotiating delivery deadlines Monitoring schedules and delivery datesActing as the main point of contact with Authors, responding to their queries and ensuring timely submission and publication of manuscriptsMaintaining timely and accurate records by updating internal databases, spreadsheets and project management systems. Checking and preparing book manuscripts for Production and meeting handover goals Arranging peer reviews of book proposals under considerationSending author contracts and responding to any queries raisedVarious ad-hoc administrative tasks such as processing payments, maintaining project records, requesting copies of books, setting up vendors etcLiaising with internal departments to address queries related to royalties, marketing materials, and production schedulesSupporting the Editor/Publisher achieve the agreed revenue and profitability targets for their listQualificationsWhat we’re looking for:

Strong administrative skillsHighly organised, with strong prioritisation and time management skillsAbility to work efficiently, calmly, and to a high standard whilst maintaining a fast pace and meeting deadlinesMeticulous attention to detailExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate sensitively and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders/customersTeam player with a flexible, positive approach to helping others and an enthusiasm for learning, but also able to work independentlyConfident use of MS Office applications and the willingness to learn other systems where neededA demonstrable interest in working in academic publishing.  The successful candidate will be able to utilize our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within a commutable distance of our office in Boca Raton FL to ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it to our office locations to collaborate as required.
