JOB SUMMARY

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking for a passionate and creative full-time Editor

  • Longform that will work in conjunction with their in-house production team, 65 Toss Power Trap Productions.

This creative will work exclusively on the production long form feature content, including the documentary series The Franchise. This role will be the lead editor and work with the other longform producers to handle all post-production, design, mix, mastering and deliverables for The Franchise.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Lead editor of The Franchise documentary series produced for the Chiefs Youtube channel.
Work with internal team of long form producer(s) to manage post production workflows and editing of The Franchise and other long form features.
Work with the Longform team in the ideation, pre-production, and post production of all long form content produced for The Franchise and Chiefs channels.
Use Adobe Creative Suite to assemble, edit, process, color correct, format, and export video projects from start to finish.
Actively seek out industry trends and new technology and techniques that will elevate and enhance our long form productions
Use Chiefs media asset management software (Iconik) to ingest, log, categorize and organize all footage.
Able to work individually or as a team on projects.
Perform additional duties as assigned by VP of Content and Production, Director of Production, and Senior Manager of Production.

Background working in college or pro sports a large plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of 2-3 years of editing long form content at a high level.
Familiar with post production workflows including proxy workflows, color, and audio mixing.
Extensive demonstrated knowledge of production equipment needed. (Expertise in post-production, field/studio/location-production, sound recording, and program development and execution needed).
Must be proficient using Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or Avid.
Demonstrated polished communication and learning skills.
Versatility, organization, and dependability a must.
Design acumen with Adobe After Effects / Photoshop a plus.
Sports production / team experience preferred.
College degree required.

REQUIREMENTS

Light office duties and activities.
Will periodically be required to lift and carry production equipment totaling 50-75 lbs.
Understanding of NFL rules, gameplay, players etc.
Organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively while working on multiple projects
Must be a team player, willing and able to learn new concepts and processes, and willing to travel for shoots when necessary.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays and on tight deadlines as required, as well as all Chiefs games, home and away.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
