Editorial – Team Leader Position Available In New York, New York

Position Duties:

Working with a team of professional reporters and editors to identify and publish concise breaking domestic and international financial, economic, or political news stories for dissemination on our worldwide proprietary terminal. Verifying the accuracy of questionable facts and obtaining supplemental material and additional details from appropriate resources. Ensuring optimal editorial standards via the overall management and oversight of reporters’ and editors’ journalistic styles, analyses, and formatting. Defining style, procedures, and quality standards for subordinate team members. Directing work across various teams of reporters, as well as assigning stories based upon skill, ability, and reporting requirements. Monitoring the ongoing dissemination of information across the team to ensure a high level of efficiency is maintained, and the departmental budget is adhered to. Assigning or re-assigning each reporter’s workload, as needed.

Job Requirements:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Journalism, Communication, or related and four (4) years of experience in the job offered, or as a Reporter, Editor, Producer, or related. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept two (2) additional years of related experience.

Must have one (1) year of experience in each of the following: M&A industry, business and finance; Business reporting and writing features, stories, and breaking news; Building and maintaining relationships with high profile, highly placed news sources; and Working in a real-time news environment.
