Job Description

First Division Consulting is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Technical Editor III to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. Hybrid (3-5 days per week in the office) Primary duties will include: + Develop, write, and edit technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, and system specifications. + Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation. + Create and maintain documentation templates and standards. + Review and update existing documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with government standards. + Conduct research and analysis to understand technical concepts and effectively communicate them to a non-technical audience. + Assist in the development of training materials and presentations. + Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Requirements + Active DoD Secret clearance is required. + Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. + 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within the USMC or Department of Defense (DoD). + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. + Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems. + Familiarity with software development processes and terminology. + Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable. + Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements:

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. + Light to moderate lifting may be required. + Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.
