Description Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Technical Editor – Proposal Department (3435) in Oak Ridge, TN. Navarro is seeking a Technical Editor to support our Proposal Department in reviewing, refining, and ensuring the quality of technical and management proposal content for DOE, DOD, and NASA contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, expertise in grammar and style, and experience ensuring compliance with federal proposal requirements. This is an onsite position at our Headquarters. Remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities:
Edit, proofread, and format technical and management proposal content for clarity, accuracy, and compliance. Ensure consistency in style, tone, terminology, and formatting across all proposal documents. Review proposal content for grammatical errors, typos, and readability while maintaining technical accuracy. Verify compliance with solicitation requirements, ensuring adherence to proposal instructions, evaluation criteria, and formatting guidelines. Work closely with Technical Writers, SMEs, and the Proposal Manager to refine and enhance proposal narratives. Assist in the development of templates, glossaries, and style guides to maintain consistency across proposals. Support color team reviews by editing and refining content based on feedback. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field. 3+ years of experience editing technical content for federal proposals, preferably for DOE, DOD, or NASA. Strong understanding of government proposal structure, compliance, and best practices. Expertise in grammar, punctuation, and style (Chicago Manual of Style, AP Style, or similar preferred). Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; experience with proposal automation tools is a plus. Ability to provide constructive feedback to enhance clarity and effectiveness of proposal content.
