ASSISTANT TEXTILE DESIGNER JOB POSITION
Fort Lauderdale-based leading Textile Company is looking for a talented junior / mid-level level Assistant Textile Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate must be creative, highly organized, and has a keen eye for detail. This role is responsible for supporting the development and creation of innovative textile designs working in close collaboration with the Senior Textile Designer and Assistant Creative Director, to be used in the production of quilting, apparel, and home decor products. The Designer is required to stay informed of current trends and produce creative designs that meet the standards of our company. Our audience is those that love DIY and want to create their own projects. This is a full-time position and we are looking for an individual that is seeking a long-term commitment with opportunity for career advancement. Textile Designer Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the design and creation of innovative textile designs for quilting, apparel and home decor products. Research and analyze current trends within the industry to support the conceptualization and development of upcoming collections in collaboration with Senior Textile Designer and Assistant Creative Director. Create original artwork in various colorways across multiple fabric substrates. Execute the color correction and communication throughout sample process, ensuring color accuracy, scale, and detail meet company standards. Monitor the production process to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met. Coordinate with other departments in the production process. Use computer-aided design (ADOBE) software to create and modify designs. Textile Designer Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in textile design or related field. Proficient in computer-aided design (ADOBE) software. Exceptional design and compositional sense with a thorough understanding of color theory. Knowledge of textiles design process, fabrics, printing techniques, and production processes. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and manage deadlines.
