Apparel Designer – Assistant

Old York Road, Gastonia, NC 28056 Overview We are seeking a motivated and talented apparel designer associate to join our team at Kamdar Industries INC. The ideal candidate for this position would have experience with creating tech packs, updating size specs, and have proficient knowledge in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.

Kamdar Industries, INC is a wholesale apparel distribution company that owns and manages several apparel brands in the men’s streetwear / urban marketplace. We work with large chain stores to curate specific seasonal lines as well design and showcase our own our private brands that we distribute to mom & pop stores across the country. Responsibilities Work with senior designer and merchandiser to design new products to showcase for sales meetings and tradeshows Create and manage tech packs to send to overseas production office Manage incoming samples, measure and review all incoming sample products against required specifications against tech packs and original references Communicate with overseas production office Communicate with buyers to create new ideas against specifications Maintain sample organization Update reports to maintain organization Provide market knowledge to senior designer to advise fresh ideas Requirements Strong fashion passion and market knowledge Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator & Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) Creativity Drawing ability Team player & strong communication skills Good research skills to research the internet to find inspiration for market trends & new fresh designs.
