Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Designer to join our Elevated Sport Apparel team. This individual contributor role is responsible for managing the technical design process from initial development through final fit approval. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in women’s sport apparel—particularly in structured and unstructured bras—with a proven ability to analyze, evaluate, and perfect garment fit across a diverse product assortment. This position ensures that products are developed in alignment with established fit standards, manufacturer capabilities, cost goals, and brand expectations. The Technical Designer will collaborate closely with internal teams and factory partners to develop and revise technical specifications, communicate fit intent, and uphold design integrity through final production.
Responsibilities:
Lead the technical design process for elevated sport apparel, ensuring consistency with brand fit and quality standards. Analyze fit samples and construction details across categories: bras (structured and unstructured), leggings, pants, tops, sweaters, jackets, skirts, and dresses. Develop, maintain, and update accurate technical specifications in the product lifecycle management system (Centric). Communicate clear and detailed technical packages, comments, and corrections to overseas vendors/factories. Partner with cross-functional teams to uphold product integrity from initial concept through bulk production. Apply advanced knowledge of patternmaking, grading, fit corrections, and construction techniques to resolve complex fit issues. Ensure all product meets design aesthetics, functional performance, manufacturing capabilities, and target costing. Collaborate with factories on machinery compatibility, especially related to high-performance sport apparel. Maintain fit consistency across a range of silhouettes, including fitted and relaxed styles in both knit and woven fabrications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Technical Design, or related field—or equivalent work experience. 7-10 years of technical design experience, with significant expertise in women’s sport apparel, especially sport bras. Strong proficiency in pad development and correction, compression fit, and garment performance functionality. Expert knowledge of patternmaking, fit evaluation, grading, and garment construction. Hands-on experience with PLM systems, preferably Centric . Familiarity with factory production processes, machinery, and technical capabilities for sport apparel and bra manufacturing. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a high level of precision and attention to detail. Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
Preferred Experience:
Broad product knowledge beyond bras—including bottoms, tops, jackets, dresses, and sweaters. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple categories simultaneously within a sport-focused apparel line.
