Showroom Designer Sara Lynn Brennan Interiors Weddington, NC 28104 We are seeking a highly motivated and design-savvy Showroom Designer to join our luxury interior design firm and retail showroom. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and creative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the showroom, providing exceptional customer service, contributing to the showroom and firm’s design projects, planning and executing in-store events, and supporting our marketing and merchandising efforts. This role blends retail management, interior design knowledge, event planning, and operational execution with a keen eye for aesthetics and a strong sense of client experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Showroom Management & Operations Open and close the showroom daily, ensuring it is clean, organized, and visually polished at all times Oversee the day-to-day functions of the showroom, maintaining high standards of presentation and professionalism Receive and inspect product deliveries, manage inventory, and coordinate returns or claims as needed Track and manage showroom product orders, samples, and lead times Assist with point-of-sale transactions, invoicing, and client follow-ups Design & Product Expertise Provide personalized, high-touch customer service and product guidance to clients and industry partners Offer design consultations in the showroom and support ongoing client projects with product (furniture, window treatment and decor) sourcing, mood boards, and space planning Utilize SketchUp (or similar rendering software) to create basic layouts or visualizations for clients when needed Assist the design team with product research, presentations, and procurement coordination Purchasing & Seasonal Buying Support seasonal buying efforts in collaboration with the design team and principal Help select new merchandise and curated collections that align with the brand’s aesthetic and current trends Develop vendor relationships and stay informed about luxury product lines and new offerings Place and track purchase orders with vendors, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery Merchandising & Visual Presentation Regularly update and refresh showroom displays to highlight seasonal trends, new arrivals, and key product features Maintain impeccable visual merchandising standards that reflect the brand’s luxury identity Coordinate showroom layouts in support of upcoming promotions, events, or design launches Marketing & Brand Support Assist with social media content creation by styling and capturing showroom vignettes, new products, and events Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and execute promotions, email campaigns, and showroom events Represent the brand at in-store events, industry functions, and community engagements Event Planning & Execution Plan and coordinate showroom events including realtor and builder gatherings, lunch and learns, product launches, client appreciation gatherings, designer meet-and-greets, and seasonal trunk shows Manage event logistics from start to finish including vendor coordination, guest list management, invitations, catering, and on-site setup/breakdown Work with the marketing team to promote events across social media, email, and local channels Ensure events reflect the firm’s elevated aesthetic and deliver a polished, memorable experience to clients and industry partners Provide event-day support and act as the main point of contact for guests and vendors
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in interior design, showroom, or furniture retail (luxury or boutique preferred) Proficiency with SketchUp or similar design software Proficiency with DesignFiles is a plus Experience planning and executing events in a retail or design-related setting Strong understanding of furniture, fabric, finishes, and product sourcing Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Polished presentation and professional demeanor Self-starter with the ability to manage responsibilities independently Experience with inventory systems or POS software a plus Flexible to work some weekends or after-hours events as needed
