Summary The Production Designer plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between Environmental design and Detailing. They display an overall knowledge of Freeman’s modular build systems, capabilities, and limitations. They are expected to deliver clean, attractive, well detailed drawings that contain comprehensive technical information. These drawings will eventually be handed off to Detailing, and are expected to be at a level of quality that requires little to no correction. The Production Designer must be fluent in AutoCAD and familiar with (or willing to learn) FreemanCAD, as well as the Schedule Generator (SG) functions of ExpoCAD3D. They may, on occasion, be asked to create color renderings of their CAD structures. The 3D Production Designer works directly with the growth department and is client-facing when needed. Communication with Production (Shop / Producing Branch / Detailing) will be required. This position will support our Design team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of any of the following locations: Dallas, TX McCook, IL Orlando, FL Las Vegas, NV Essential Duties & Responsibilities Must be fluent in AutoCAD 2020 or higher. Ability to use (or willing to learn) rendering software, i.e. 3ds Max, Sketchup. Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred. Working knowledge of
Data Management:
Autodesk Vault, and Box. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Complete understanding of modular build systems, i.e. Flex, Smart Panel. Understand the trigger points for engineering stamping. Must demonstrate unique and innovative thinking. Collaborate to solve client objectives through smart design solutions. Knowledge of drafting and/or spatial planning. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple and competing priorities. Good written and verbal communication style. Utilize Passport, Workfront, and Kronos to update job status, log time to jobs, and manage timekeeping. Communicate concerns and information to leadership, following the chain of command. Perform additional duties as needed. Education & Experience Associate’s degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required. Autodesk AutoCAD 2020 or later (preferred), Autodesk Vault Professional (preferred), Adobe Acrobat Professional (preferred), Adobe Illustrator (preferred), and Microsoft Office (required). 1 year or more experience in the tradeshow / face-to-face marketing industry preferred. 1 year or more of experience in drafting in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
