JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Graphic Designer at Florida Poly will be responsible for creating a wide range of visual materials that support the University’s marketing, branding and communication efforts. Projects will encompass an array of digital and print materials, including graphic designs, layout work, exhibits, advertisements, brochures, books, newsletters, flyers, photos, logos, icons, animations, presentations and slides. This position requires a creative and detail-oriented individual with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in graphic design, a keen eye for aesthetics, and the ability to translate complex ideas into visually appealing designs.

JOB DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and produce print and digital collateral/assets, including but not limited to logos, icons, posters, newsletters, brochures, flyers, advertisements, exhibits, displays, social media graphics, website visuals, email blasts, presentations, reports and templates that adhere to the University’s brand standards. Assist in the production of multimedia content, including video and animation, as needed. Adhere to and enhance the University’s brand guidelines, ensuring a unified and professional visual identity across all communication channels. Collaborate with and support all University departments to understand their design needs and project specifications and deliver visually impactful solutions that align with their goals and objectives. Provide creative input during brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the University’s visual communications. Incorporate feedback from stakeholders, making necessary revisions to designs to meet project specifications and improve outcomes. Keep abreast of current design trends, tools and technologies to ensure our visual content remains relevant and engaging. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, managing time effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards. Work with vendors to obtain project quotes and approve proofs as needed. Maintain department files of completed assignments and accurate logs of work in progress, such as time devoted to a project. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and other relevant design software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Excellent understanding of typography, color theory and layout design. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements. Knowledge of photography and photo processing techniques.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, marketing/advertising or related field. A minimum of three years of professional graphic design experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects and proficiency in both print and digital media. Knowledge of HTML, CSS and web design principles. Photography experience. Familiarity with video editing and animation software. Copy editing ability or knowledge of AP style. Experience with MailChimp, Pardot, Exact Target or other email platforms is a plus.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW

Must possess a valid driver’s license. This position requires a criminal background check, which may include a Level II screening as required by Florida Statute §435.04. This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

This position is salary exempt. The normal work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. However, occasional extended hours (weekends and evenings) may be required. Travel between campus locations may be required. This position is primarily an in-office position.

HIRING SALARY

$ 50,200 – $ 55,000, commensurate with experience.
