MACHINE ELECTRICAL SPECIALIST

This role will work both within the Engineering office doing design work, and in the Electrical department in Production doing wiring work.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a high standard of safety, teamwork, workmanship and housekeeping.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communication in a manner that gets along with co-workers, customers and supervision.
• Must be able to move or lift products and material of varied sizes and weights, sometime in excess of 1000 pounds, being able to move and lift by hand where appropriate and being able to operate lifting machinery where appropriate.
• Care for and operate electrical assembly equipment.
• Read, interpret and perform electrical assemblies and installations from blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Assist in performing building and machine maintenance.
• Assist Engineering in electrical design.
• Perform industrial electrical maintenance on products and equipment.
• Design schematics.
• Field service work, including, but not limited to: coordinating service call timing and schedule with the customer, discussing facility and availability of tools on site, arranging travel to and from site (flying typically required when drive time exceeds around 6 hours), entering trip reports into a database when required, following up with customer after the service call when required.
• Answering questions and providing phone support to customer with equipment in the field, including, but not limited to: troubleshooting electrical equipment by telephone, documenting calls with call reports and forwarding them for follow-up to the appropriate team members.
• Perform research and development for in-house development of new in-house products.
• Repair boards, pendants and footswitches, including, but not limited to: tagging repaired boards and organizing them, entering job status notes identifying hour/materials/status of the repaired item.
• Provide System Engineering support, including, but not limited to: providing sketches by hand or ACAD for electrical connection research, providing component research and interconnection research when required, providing Electrical Engineering support for equipment design when required.
• Provide electrical production support in a production environment, including, but not limited to: performing system troubleshooting and calibration, answering Systems related questions when required.
• Operate all assembly equipment.
• Assist in expediting shop production and perform as directed by shop supervision.
• Perform duties as needed and as directed by Shop supervision or Chief Engineer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED TOOLS:

The following tools are not provided by Pandjiris, Inc., and all applicants must already possess these personal tools prior to interviewing in ordered to be considered for the position:

• Standard Tool Set (required by all manufacturing positions at Pandjiris): o Upright tool chest on wheels complete with drawers and lock. o Set of standard and Phillips head screwdrivers. o Set of combination end wrenches from 3/8″ – 3/4″. o Set of sockets from 3/8″ – 3/4″. o 8″ crescent wrench. o Channel lock pliers. o Needle nose pliers. o Standard set of Allen wrenches.
• Electrical Tool Set (in addition to owning Standard Tool Set): o Wiring strippers. o Grippers o Wire cutters. o Crimpers. o An assortment of pliers other than what is already mentioned in the Standard Tool Set.
• All required tool sets must be complete, well-maintained, in good working order and ready for use on the first day of employment.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must have at least 1 year of experience as an electrician or an electrical engineer.
• Must have working knowledge of electricity within industrial machinery.
• Must have strong computer proficiency.
• Must be trainable, willing to learn new skills and be willing to cross-train to different areas.
• Must be interested in a long-term career and following a career path.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years of experience as an electrician or an electrical engineer.
• Highly experience electricians preferred to electrical engineers.
• Knowledge of electrical design.
