Job Description:
A Product Development Designer (Fuel Tank Modules) is needed in Auburn, Alabama.
- Develop and refine detailed product design specifications for automotive fuel tank modules and eco modules, ensuring compliance with engineering principles and manufacturing requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess design viability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 3D models, technical drawings, and engineering blueprints for fuel tank modules and related automotive components.
- Ensure designs incorporate industry standards, regulatory requirements, and material considerations for optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other teams to develop and modify prototypes of fuel tank modules, evaluating structural integrity, durability, and functional performance.
- Implement necessary modifications based on prototype testing, manufacturing constraints, and engineering feedback.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers to ensure that product designs are optimized for mass production, assembly, and quality control considering material selection, production techniques, and supply chain constraints.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documents, drawings, and design reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and troubleshoot design-related issues in prototype or production phases, working with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvements.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Aviation, or Aerospace Engineering
