About the role
We’re looking for a Product Designer to createpelling and impactful growth experiences that engage prospective customers and improve our high level acquisition funnels. You will bring creative, analytical, and technical design skills to collaborate closely with a strong cross-functional team and stakeholders across our consumer platform.

This role is based out of our NYC office. The base salary range offered for this position is reflected below. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just oneponent of Betterment’s totalpensation package for employees.
New York City:
$110,000-130,000

This job may also be eligible for variablepensation in the form of apany incentive bonus. For jobs based out of our NYC HQ, we require in office attendance Tuesday through Thursday, weekly.
A day in the life
Design and iterate on key acquisition flows, funnels, and tools that drive growth, balancing business goals and user needs
Create engaging landing pages and experiences that bring the Betterment brand to life and resonate with prospective customers
Make informed, data-backed design decisions by leveraging research, customer insights, usability principles, and site performance metrics
Contribute to our design system, ensuring everything we create is accessible, cohesive, and aligned with our brand
Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, brand designers, content strategists, product design, marketing, and many others, working closely in a cross-disciplinary team
shape our product direction by identifying new opportunities, proposing A/B tests, and staying current with design and industry trends
Take ownership of your work from start to finish—seeing your designs through to launch
Grow your skills as part of a talented, supportive design team that values open feedback and works toward a unified customer experience across all touchpoints
What we’re looking for
3+ years of relevant experience as a product designer (previous titles may have been different)
Portfolio of extraordinary product design work that demonstrates a strong visual design foundation, positive business impact and experience shipping designs to real people, across web and mobile
Experience working within established accessible design systems and evolving when appropriate
Excellentmunication skills, both written and spoken
Strong collaborative skills with experience working through lots of cross-functional feedback
Experience working in a data-informed test and learn environment
Ability to identify user needs and pain points through research, usability testing, and data analysis
Stronganizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with tight timelines
Strategic thinker with a big-picture view of how design drives product and business goals

What happens next

In the interview process, we’ll look to learn more about your skills, experiences, capabilities, and motivators. Many of our questions will be aimed at understanding how you might operate at Betterment. Depending on the role, we may ask you toplete a case study exercise or technical assessments, as we want to collect a robust set of data points to better inform our decisions.
On average, it takes us around 3-5 weeks to make a hiring decision, depending on your availability and sense of urgency. As a best practice, we aim to interview at least 2-3 final round candidates before making a hiring decision. Please note that, as we usually receive an overwhelming number of applications for open positions, we’re unable to offer individual feedback during the interview process.
