We are currently seeking a Senior NPD (New Product Development) Engineer to join our cross-functional team and lead the development of next-generation products from concept through launch. The Senior NPD Engineer will play a critical role in managing and executing complex product development projects. This individual will work closely with R D, marketing, manufacturing, and quality teams to bring innovative products to market on time, on budget, and to specification. Duties and responsibilities
Responsible for all Engineering related activities on new product development projects including redesign/ reconciliation of existing product lines. Drive manufacturing input into NPD projects to enhance design effectiveness and reliability through methodologies such as Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA), design reviews, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Ensure industry standards and agency compliance parameters are adhered.
Use knowledge of air management & aeroacoustics and structural analysis to design products.
Design control systems, using electromechanical and electronic controls as well as wiring harnesses following the V-IR, Visual, Infallible, Robust method. Document product designs by preparing bills of material, drawings, and product change notifications.
Proficient in SolidWorks generating drawings and models.
Build product cost models in collaboration with the Operations teams to actively manage product costs throughout the development phase and ensure that launch targets are met.
Provide technical support for Make versus Buy analysis, develop project execution timelines, and ensure that quality and performance levels are achieved for new product launches. Requirements
4-year degree in related field or 15 years of experience in an Engineering role
10 years of experience in related field
Experience with 3D modeling/drawings, SolidWorks
Released two or more product families
In-depth knowledge of Commercial Cooking appliance design and applications; intimate familiarity with the systems component design, integration, and interactions
Hands-on skills and experience in working with laboratory equipment, test stands and instrumentation
Fundamental understanding of Engineering principles
Self-starter and hands-on approach
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Sheetmetal design experience Working conditions
This position will be based in an office setting, but at times will require a hands-on approach. Occasional prototyping and testing will result in the operation of tools in the manufacturing environment. Physical requirements
Will be required to lift 30lbs occasionally, as manufacturing is supported.
