Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a mechanical engineer to join our effort in revamping our existing lineup of stringing sheaves and accessories, as well as inventing new products to fill portfolio gaps. The ideal candidate is a self-motivator with a solid foundation in computer-aided design and mechanical engineering fundamentals. A successful candidate can expect continued access to challenging engineering projects and ongoing growth while working as part of one of the top engineering teams in the industry. Responsibilities Design, prototype, and test new sheave concepts based on specific requirements. Collaborate with other engineers to provide technical solutions for a variety of moderately complex design problems assigned by more senior engineers. Ensure timely completion of tasks and projects while meeting all requirements. Create 2D and 3D geometry using SolidWorks. Support engineering change requests. Familiarize with industry standards organizations, particularly ASTM, ISO, AWS, and SAE. Design for manufacturability and support the operations team as needed. Perform finite element analysis, preferably using SolidWorks. Essential Skills Proficiency in SolidWorks for creating 2D and 3D geometry. Minimum of one year of experience with finite element analysis (SolidWorks preferred). Experience with polymers and plastics. Experience with hydraulics design. Knowledge of designing weldments. Familiarity with OSHA, FMVSS, and AISC. Experience in designing heavy equipment for over-the-road use. Experience in designing with bearings, shafts, and other machine elements or rotating equipment. Minimum of three years’ experience applying fundamental engineering concepts from statics and mechanics of materials. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in designing heavy industrial equipment, tractors, or large machinery. Work Environment The work environment involves working with challenging engineering projects and collaborating with a top engineering team. The role may require knowledge of industry standards and designing for manufacturability. Proficiency in using SolidWorks and performing finite element analysis is essential.
