Heather Waters Design is seeking an experienced Junior Interior Designer to join our growing team of professionals in Melbourne, FL. You will be working as a team member to design custom homes, complete home renovations, bathroom and kitchen renovations, and more. You will be asked to manage projects and collaborate with internal and external teams and partners to ensure design integrity and client satisfaction. Join our team and we will work together to complete some of the most challenging and rewarding projects. Qualifications 2+ years of experience working with an interior design firm or design related job Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school, or industry experience Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, Word, or design software Knowledge of design requirements, construction methods and materials Extensive knowledge of design principles and aesthetics Knowledge of residential furnishings Strong verbal, writing and listening skills with experience managing client and vendor relations Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain and foster strong relationships with our industry collaborators and service providers Must maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism Dedication to providing superior personal service Ability to help haul heavy samples and small furniture items to design presentations or installations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Knowledge of design requirements, construction methods and materials for high end residential projects Extensive knowledge of design principles and aesthetics Knowledge of residential furnishings and finishes Strong verbal, writing and listening skills with experience managing client and vendor relations Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain and foster strong relationships with our industry collaborators and service providers Must maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism Dedication to providing superior personal service Ability to help haul heavy samples and small furniture items to design presentations or installations Responsibilities Assist the Principal Designer and other designers and will support and participate in creating functionally beautiful spaces for residential design clients Work on projects through all phases of design, from concept to installation Generate 2D and 3D plans and elevations based on project requirements Work directly with the team to prepare for design presentations that include 2D and 3D renderings and elevations, style sheets, and presentation boards Generate and maintain project schedules including plumbing, lighting, paint, materials, cabinetry, and hardware Responsible for paperwork accuracy and completeness Correspond with vendors, contractors, and sub-contractors, as needed Coordinate with vendors to ensure product accuracy and availability Manage interior design resource library Record and issue detailed meeting notes for all Client meetings, site visits, and project phone calls Maintain project binders and cloud folders with all related contacts, schedules, specifications, and drawings Heather Waters Design offers excellent compensation
