Interior Design Assistant Margaret Smith Design Studios Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304 Job Overview We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our residential design team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for transforming spaces and a strong understanding of design principles. This role involves selections, showroom visits, vendor communication, construction documents and specifications, and procurement of decorative selections. the Interior Designer will be responsible for managing projects from concept through completion, ensuring high-quality results that meet client expectations. Duties Draft detailed design plans using AutoCAD software, ensuring accuracy and feasibility. Utilize SketchUp for 3D modeling and visualization of design concepts. Select appropriate materials, furnishings, lighting, and color schemes to enhance the overall design. Prepare presentations for clients, showcasing design ideas through sketches, mood boards, and digital renderings. Oversee renovation projects, coordinating with contractors and vendors to ensure timely completion. Conduct site visits to assess project progress and make necessary adjustments. Requesting Quotes, developing proposals, purchasing and lead time follow up with vendors. Skills Proficiency in CAD software for drafting detailed designs. Experience with SketchUp 3D for creating visual representations of designs. Strong knowledge of interior design principles, materials, and construction processes. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Sales experience is a plus, particularly in lighting or related fields. Creative problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of design work.
