Description:
The Corporate Interior Design Project Manager is responsible for the management of the design and documentation of corporate interior design projects and is responsible for client management, project schedules, project budgets, and project profitability. They may work on stand a lone interior design projects or on the interior portions of architectural projects.
Responsibilities:
General/Specific Duties:
Responsible for overseeing the conceptual design philosophy for the interior elements of the project.
Manages the production of documents, which convey design intent. That includes the preparation of interior presentation drawings, space plans, interior elevations, millwork elevations, floor pattern plans, ceiling plans and schedules.
Manages the preparation of space planning, conceptual, schematic design, design development, construction documents and specifications for interior design projects or interior elements of architectural projects.
Reviews and approves the selection of interior finishes, materials, furniture, window treatments and artwork.
Reviews and approves interior finish sample boards prepared by interior design staff.
Responsible for technical and code research on interior design issues.
Prepares, or reviews and approves, project programs and documentation of client requirements.
Responsible for construction administration activities for a range of interior design issues.
Leads client meetings and assumes responsibility for the preparation of agendas, schedules, and meeting documentation.
Prepares and monitors project budgets and schedules.
Create proposals and letters of agreement for Interior Design projects.
Manages consulting engineers on Interior Design projects.
Responsible for all project documentation.
Reviews and approves project and consultant invoices.
Participates in annual employee evaluations of Interior Design Staff.
Participates in marketing activities for interior design projects.
Participate in professional organizations.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in interior design or equivalent program from an accredited University.
Registration Requirements:
Licensure is required.
Years of Experience:
Approximately ten or more years of experience in interior design is expected.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in the use of the following computer software programs: Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite, NewForma, WebEx, Bluebeam, InDesign, Enscape, and other graphic software programs.
Other Requirements:
Strong interior design skills and creative abilities.
Strong design presentation skills and ability to communicate design intent.
Strong client management skills.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as lead a team if necessary.
Extensive knowledge of interior space planning, design and construction, furniture, and interior materials.
Knowledge of building engineering systems.
Extensive knowledge of interior code requirements.
Strong ability to develop space program requirements.
Strong ability to lead the production of interior design presentation materials and documentation.
Experienced with construction administration phase activities regarding interior design issues.
Ability to develop and monitor project schedules and budgets.
Must be willing to meet job obligations and firm’s commitments, as well as any other activity or task deemed necessary by immediate supervisor or Principals.
