Full Job Description Job Summary:

Interior Designer position that requires creating and executing design plans for vacation homes including turnkey and upgrade projects in Orlando from inception to completion. This position of responsibility entails implementing best practices pertaining to sales, client customer service liaison and team collaboration.

Job Duties:

Create Design Packages Create upgrade and turnkey design packages for vacation rental homes to meet client needs. Collaborate with the other designers in the development of design packages. Stay abreast of current design trends and design software to enhance design plan presentation.

Clients and Customer Service :

Meet with clients that are introduced to the design team to determine their design needs and create customized design plans that reflect client preferences and budget constraints.

Design Execution & Inspection :

Oversee the execution and installation of design plans from inception to completion. This includes working with the design installation team by conducting on-site inspection & walk-throughs of set-up and installation to ensure design execution plans are being followed, and there is accurate delivery of goods and services to properties.

Schedules and Timelines :

Create and execute an achievable project delivery plan and work schedule that prioritizes efficient use of labour hours and prompt delivery of projects to ensure timelines are met. Update schedules/timelines as needed and review labour hours per project with the goal of improving efficiency across all aspects of the design process.

Problem Solving & Adaptability :

Be proactive and diligent to consider potential issues related to project execution. Troubleshoot to resolve situations that may impede project progress and cause timing delays. Demonstrate adaptability and quickly cope in a positive manner when faced with changing situations.

Department Success:

Share strategies to strengthen design team skills, interactions and productivity by building interpersonal relationships that inspire positive and supportive teamwork.

Vendors & Ordering:

Assist with the ordering and delivery process, contacting, meeting, and collaborating with vendors/ distributors, and creating relationships with them.

Sales:

Establish and execute a professional process for client meetings that prioritizes and enhances the customer service experience while using design time effectively and efficiently. Collaborate with realtors and communicate our process with them.

Design Department Growth:

Demonstrate resourcefulness, creativity and initiative to enhance the growth and success of the design department. Work with the design team to develop and implement incentives that will motivate and increase productivity that leads to increased revenue and profit as well as workplace satisfaction.

Staging and Onboarding:

Coordinate staging with the onboarding team to prepare the property for the professional photo shoot.

Upstay Teams Support and Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with all Upstay teams, clients and third party vendors with the goal of creating an enticing short term vacation home and to provide clients with an outstanding customer service experience across all facets of the design and onboarding process.

Professional Growth:

Participate in professional growth activities such as but not limited to: taking design courses, attending conferences related to design and/or vacation rental homes; engage in technology growth opportunities; visit model homes and properties to gain creative ideas etc.

OH&S:

Actively participate and contribute with the improvement of company procedures and processes. Follow all Upstay’s procedures and guidelines, and applicable law and regulations. Promote a professional, positive and cooperative working environment, based on mutual respect and trust and sharing of ideas. Promote safe behaviour in the workplace.

Job Requirements:
Experience :

3+ years background in a similar position, preferably with experience in design creation, installation and staging projects implementation.

Education :

College diploma/ bachelor’s degree in or related certification, with a portfolio of design work. Other qualifications : Familiarity with Google Drive, Google Hangouts, Excel, Canva and other design software, Microsoft Office, and Slack. Valid driver’s license, fluency in both written and oral English, Spanish and Portuguese.
