Position Overview:
We are seeking a creative, organized, and customer-focused Design Center Manager to join our growing home building company. The Design Center Manager plays a pivotal role in helping our homebuyers personalize their new homes by guiding them through the interior and exterior finish selection process. This individual will lead design consultations, maintain the design center’s appearance, and ensure a seamless, enjoyable experience for each buyer from contract to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Consultation & Support Conduct design appointments with homebuyers to assist in selecting finishes such as flooring, cabinetry, countertops, paint, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and more. Educate buyers on available options, standard features, and upgrade opportunities. Provide expert guidance in balancing aesthetics, functionality, and budget. Design Center Operations Maintain an organized, visually appealing design center with updated samples and displays. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to update products and materials as needed. Ensure samples are current, well-stocked, and represent the company’s design standards. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with the construction, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure accurate selections are documented and communicated. Serve as the point of contact for all post-selection questions or updates regarding finishes. Monitor timelines to ensure selections are made within the required deadlines to avoid construction delays. Documentation & Reporting Accurately record all selections in company systems and ensure proper sign-off from clients. Create selection sheets and ensure all options are priced and approved. Track client appointments and generate periodic reports for leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in a design or customer-facing role, preferably in residential homebuilding or interior design. Strong knowledge of design trends, materials, and home finishes. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
