Position Summary Information Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field from an accredited program.
- Up-to-date knowledge of design trends, codes, and ADApliance.
- NCIDQ Certification, or the ability to pass the examination within one year of employment License/Certification Required Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field from an accredited program.

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Strong knowledge of FF&E specifications, building codes, ADA guidelines, and design principles.
Excellentmunication,anization, and project management skills.
Experience in highercation, public sector, or government projects.
Familiarity with state procurement and public bidding processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Interior Designer is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the execution of interior design projects across campus, including academic buildings, administrative offices, student spaces, and residential facilities. This role supports the university’s mission by enhancing learning and work environments through thoughtful, sustainable, and inclusive interior design solutions. Develop interior design concepts, layouts, and finish schemes for university spaces.
Provide programming and space planning for renovations, new construction, and furniture upgrades.
Select and specify interior finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) in accordance with university standards, project budgets, and accessibility guidelines.
Prepare design documentation including drawings, renderings, presentations, and finish boards.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors throughout the design and construction process.
Review construction documents and submittals forpliance with design intent and university standards.
Participate in construction administration, including site visits, punch lists, and quality control.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design trends, codes, and ADApliance.
Collaborate with university stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and administrators, to ensure design solutions meet user needs and institutional goals.
Support the development and maintenance of university design and furniture standards. Type of Position Full Time Position
