Interior Designer
BIG’s NYC office is looking for an Interior Designer who will work together with the Director of Interiors & Partners to develop Interior Design projects from concept through execution. From mood boards and layouts to material specification and details, you will develop strong conceptual narratives and ideas, both big picture and in the details. The ideal candidate has an independent voice that will evolve the Interior Design function and team at BIG.

Qualifications:

Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture
5+ years of post-graduate experience as an Interior Designer or Architect with a special focus on Interiors
Commercial and residential project experience; hospitality, educational, and cultural experience is a plus
Knowledgeable in materials, millwork design, furniture, and FF&E specifications
Strong AutoCAD, V-Ray, Rhino, and Adobe Suite skills (Revit is a plus)
Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and self-manage time
Experience with built and published projects
Knowledge of industry practices, local codes, and construction details
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment

AIA/NCIDQ

licensure and/or LEED certification are assets

Responsibilities:

Creating interior design concepts and strategies
Engaging with clients and presenting design direction
Working closely with design teams, Project Managers, and Partners
Taking initiative and developing design options in response to direction from Leadership
Preparing and editing drawings as they relate to projects
Coordinating with external stakeholders and/or clients

    Compensation for this role is based on relevant experience, but in the range of $85,000
  • $100,000.
