About Us We are a studio grounded in rigor, guided by a deep respect for materials, and committed to design with purpose. Our work spans architecture and interiors and is driven by curiosity, craft, and a belief that space shapes how people live and feel. We’re a close-knit team committed to thoughtful collaboration, high standards, and making exemplary work. We believe the process is the product—and we’re looking for a designer who shares that conviction. The Role We’re seeking a versatile and thoughtful Interior Designer with strong interior architectural skills to support and shape complex residential projects from concept through completion. This is a hybrid role for someone who thrives in both the creative and technical sides of design—equally comfortable sourcing a vintage armchair, sketching a millwork detail, or refining a client presentation. You’ll collaborate closely with the principals and design team across the full project lifecycle, contributing to sourcing, drawing, procurement, and client engagement. You’ll also take on a leadership role in structuring and tracking project deliverables, guiding internal reviews, and maintaining steady communication with clients. Success in this role requires clarity of thought, a strong design sensibility, and a genuine interest in understanding and articulating a client’s perspective through design. Responsibilities 1. Concept & Design Development Support the design team in developing concepts grounded in narrative, context, and user experience. Translate ideas into architectural and interior layouts, including floor plans and furniture plans, under guidance. Contribute to the design and detailing of interior elements such as millwork, cabinetry, and built-ins. Create mood boards, precedent packages, and sample palettes that express design intent and project atmosphere. Produce and iterate on digital and hand-drawn studies that explore form, material, and spatial relationships. Assist in the preparation of renderings and visual presentations for internal and client review. 2. Technical Drafting & Documentation Prepare and update drawing sets with accuracy using AutoCAD and/or Revit; SketchUp and Enscape are a plus. Draft basic interior elevations, sections, and construction details with clarity and attention to scale. Collaborate with project leads to integrate interior drawings with architectural documentation. 3. FF&E Design & Procurement Research and source furnishings, lighting, materials, and fixtures appropriate to the project’s vision and requirements. Prepare FF&E schedules, tear sheets, and pricing documents. Communicate with vendors to request samples, pricing, and availability. Track procurement, sample management, and assist in coordination of installation logistics. 4. Client Support & Communication Attend client meetings and take detailed notes to support design follow-up. Help prepare presentation decks and material trays in advance of meetings. Translate client feedback into annotated markups or task lists for design iteration. 5. Project Coordination Maintain sample libraries and project folders to ensure team alignment. Help track internal deadlines and deliverables in collaboration with project leads. Coordinate deliveries, sample returns, and other logistics with external partners. 6. Studio Engagement & Growth Contribute to internal design reviews and team meetings with questions, observations, and ideas. Take initiative in learning new tools, workflows, and materials. Support studio documentation and organization efforts (templates, sample inventory, precedent library). Participate in conversations about design values, process, and creative development. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in interior design, with an emphasis on high-end residential work; interior architecture experience is a strong plus Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, Microsoft Office Excellent visual communication and presentation skills A strong eye for detail, materials, proportion, and composition Confidence in producing schedules, scaled drawings, and custom detailing Experience with procurement and vendor management What We Value Craft is Integrity

  • Every detail matters. We design with precision and purpose. Collaboration is Everything
  • We believe in shared ownership and honest dialogue. Space Holds Power
  • Material, proportion, and purpose are all considered in concert. Rigor Makes Beauty Possible
  • Excellence is earned, not improvised. Responsibility is a Privilege
  • We honor our clients’ intentions and expectations.

Who You Are You think through drawing and dialogue, and believe iteration is essential to good design You love figuring things out—from how a panel aligns to how a space tells a story You are energized by collaboration, but also know how to self-direct and take initiative You listen deeply and design for the client’s life, not your own particular taste You are curious, articulate, grounded, and driven by the desire to make great work Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $78,000

  • $88,000, depending on experience 401(k) and profit-sharing eligibility after 12 months Paid vacation and holidays Health benefits and professional development support A collaborative, thoughtful studio environment that values both rigor and humanity How to Apply Please send the following to info@francesmildred.
