Job Description
Category Schools – Sign Language Interpreter – Telehealth Job Type Contract VocoVision is seeking a skilled and dedicated Virtual School Sign Language Interpreter to provide interpreting services for K-12 students during the 2024-2025 school year. This is a fully remote, contracted position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ education across the state of Alabama. The ideal candidate will be proficient in ASL and have experience working in an educational environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide virtual ASL interpretation for students during live online classes and school activities. Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure effective communication for students. Adapt interpreting styles to meet the needs of students with varying levels of hearing loss and educational requirements.
Qualifications :
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL). Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in a school setting (preferred). Familiarity with virtual learning platforms and technology. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
