Category Schools – Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Join our innovative educational team providing essential communication access for deaf and hard of hearing students in virtual learning environments. We’re seeking experienced interpreters to deliver high-quality interpretation services while working remotely and supporting diverse student populations. Role Details This remote interpreter position offers 36-37.5 hours per week supporting approximately 20-28 students across various grade levels. You’ll provide interpretation services for live virtual classes, educational meetings, and individual student sessions. The role combines flexible remote work with meaningful educational impact and professional growth opportunities. Our interpreters work with students from elementary through high school levels, requiring adaptability in communication approaches and subject matter interpretation. You’ll collaborate with educational teams to ensure optimal learning experiences while maintaining professional interpreting standards in virtual environments. Responsibilities Provide expert ASL interpretation during virtual educational sessions, ensuring deaf and hard of hearing students receive complete access to curriculum content and classroom interactions. You’ll interpret academic instruction across multiple subjects, facilitate student engagement, and support educational discussions and activities. Team collaboration involves working closely with special education coordinators, general education teachers, and support staff to optimize student communication access. You’ll participate in IEP meetings, contribute to educational planning processes, and provide feedback on interpretation effectiveness and student needs.
