Category Schools – Sign Language Interpreter – Telehealth Job Type Contract Are you a certified Sign Language Interpreter ready to support K-12 students virtually? We’re seeking passionate interpreters to provide remote interpreting services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This opportunity allows you to work from home while making a lasting impact in education through accessible and engaging communication support.
Position Details Schedule:
35 to 37.5 hours per week during the school year
Grade Levels:
Ranges from elementary to high school (K-12)
Caseload:
Typically 1:1 or small group interpreting for up to 5 students per day
Service Setting:
100% remote video-based interpretation
Support Categories:
General education and special education classes Daily classroom instruction One-on-one interpreting sessions Academic assemblies and parent-teacher conferences Core Responsibilities Deliver real-time sign language interpretation for virtual classroom instruction Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students and educational staff Interpret academic material, classroom discussions, and related activities Support IEP goals related to communication access Maintain professional documentation of services provided Collaborate with teachers, speech professionals, and other team members to ensure optimal student support Required Qualifications Minimum 3.5 EIPA score (required); 4.0+ preferred 2 years of school-based interpreting experience Proficiency in educational interpreting across various grade levels Preferred credentials: RID/NIC certification and written EIPA Reliable access to high-speed internet and a quiet, dedicated workspace Familiarity with video conferencing platforms and remote interpreting tools Must reside in or be licensed to provide services in New Mexico Application Process If interested, apply here or contact: Daniela Jimenez 470-516-6256 Santa Fe, NM 87501 Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled
