School- Based 1:1 Sign Language Interpreter Position – near Shreveport, LA Sunbelt is hiring a Full Time 1:1 Sign Language Interpreter for a school in the Shreveport area. This position is onsite, with full-time opportunity M-F for the 2025-2026 school year.

Qualifications:

Valid certification recognized by the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Interpreters (BEI certification or equivalent preferred) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) EIPA or RID cert preferred Proven experience interpreting in educational environments Strong understanding of educational practices and IEP processes Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Responsibilities:

Interpret spoken language between students and staff during instructional activities Facilitate effective communication in classrooms, meetings, and school events Collaborate with educators and IEP teams to tailor support for individual student needs Maintain professional standards of confidentiality and ethical practice in all interpreting assignments Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance interpreting skills
