Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

Monitor:

Listen to or read foreign language communications, typing summaries into English.

Transcribe:

Convert spoken words from one language into written form in the same language.

Translate:

Render spoken or written content from one language into another language.

Interpret:

Translate orally, either consecutively or simultaneously, from source to target language.

Analyze:

Examine and interpret information to support law enforcement investigations related to narcotics, fraud, terrorism, and other criminal activities.

Requirements:

Proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish with clear and effective communication skills. Ability to summarize and translate real-time audio and text, including slang and colloquialisms. Prior experience in interpreting and/or translating in professional or personal settings. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and text message terminology in English and Spanish. Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute. Ability to adapt under pressure and work in a team environment. Availability for a rotating schedule. Candidates must pass language proficiency tests in English and Spanish or provide prior results as required. Willingness to travel and work locally full-time, with occasional extended assignments outside your area. Applicants must pass a Government security background investigation.

Physical Demands:

The position requires the ability to talk, hear, see, sit for extended periods, and use hands and fingers to handle a keyboard or phone pad. Occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching may also be required.
