This role focuses on facilitating effective communication for students with hearing impairments, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and classroom environment.
Qualifications:
Proficient in English and sign language, with a strong grasp of both languages. Excellent communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively. Ability to interpret conversational speech as well as technical language and abstract concepts. Successful completion of the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a score of at least 3.5 out of 5. Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting, is preferred.

Reading, PA Responsibilities:
Interpret classroom instruction, announcements, and student conversations to support learning. Collaborate with educators to help students comprehend technical language and abstract concepts. Assist in facilitating parent meetings and other important interactions between students and families. Maintain flexibility as an itinerant interpreter, traveling between various sites as needed.
