This contract position is situated in Charleston, SC, for the duration of the school year, where you will play a vital role in facilitating communication and enhancing the educational experience for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID, NIC). Demonstrated experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students. Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant communication methods. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with educational staff, students, and families. Knowledge of educational policies and practices related to students with disabilities.
