A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is sought for an elementary school setting in North Charleston, SC, to provide dedicated one-on-one support. This contract position spans the 2025-2026 school year and requires a commitment to fostering effective communication for students with hearing impairments.
Key Qualifications:
Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter, with a strong understanding of educational environments Minimum 3.2 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score required Experience working one-on-one with students in elementary school settings preferred Ability to maintain clear, respectful communication to support student learning and inclusion
Job Location:
North Charleston, South Carolina Primary Responsibilities:
Facilitate accurate and clear interpretation for a student using sign language during educational activities Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure effective communication and support Adapt interpretation strategies to meet the needs of the student within an elementary classroom context Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
