Position Overview:
This full-time role offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. You’ll provide in-person interpretation for meetings, discussions, and video conferences involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Administrative teams.
Additional responsibilities include:
Translating technical documents (e.g., work instructions, charts, and engineering drawings) from Japanese to English and vice versa. Supporting telephone, video, and in-person communications across time zones. Assisting with administrative support for Japanese expatriate staff, including relocation coordination and related tasks. Flexibility for occasional early morning or evening hours to accommodate time zone differences.
Qualifications:
Fluency in both Japanese and English (speaking, reading, and writing). 1-2 years of translation and interpretation experience (industrial/manufacturing setting preferred). Familiarity with manufacturing terminology and technical vocabulary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills. Ability to multitask and pivot quickly in a dynamic environment. Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
