Anniston, AL Lighting Services Engineer Responsibilities:
Responsible fordesigning, implementing, and maintaining lighting systems forvarious applications, such as commercial buildings, residentialspaces, outdoor environments, and industrial facilities. Collaborate with clients, architects, and project teams to createeffective and energy-efficient lighting solutions. Collaborate with clients and architects to understand projectrequirements and objectives. Design lighting systems that meet aesthetic, functional, andenergy-efficiency goals. Perform lighting calculations and simulations to determine theappropriate fixtures, luminance levels, and lighting layouts fordifferent spaces. Focus on energy-efficient lighting design by incorporating LEDtechnology, daylight harvesting, and other sustainable practices toreduce energy consumption and environmental impact. Te Create detailed lighting plans, technical drawings, andspecifications that can be used by contractors and installers forconstruction and implementation. Select lighting fixtures, controls, and accessories based onproject requirements, budget constraints, and clientpreferences. Ensure that lighting designs comply with relevant codes, standards,and regulations, including energy codes, safety guidelines, andaccessibility requirements. Conduct site visits and evaluations to assess existing lightingconditions, troubleshoot issues, and gather data for retrofit orrenovation projects. Estimate project costs, prepare lighting budgets, and monitorexpenses to stay within budgetary constraints. Manage lighting projects from concept to completion, coordinatingwith contractors, electricians, and other stakeholders to ensuretimely and accurate installation. Perform quality control inspections to verify that lighting systemsare installed correctly and function as designed. Oversee the commissioning process to ensure that lighting controlsand systems operate efficiently and according to designspecifications. Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings,specifications, change orders, and as-built records. Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, addressconcerns, and ensure satisfaction with the lighting solutions. Explore and integrate smart lighting systems, automation, andcontrols to enhance user experience and energy savings.
Lighting Engineer Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electricalengineering, architectural engineering, or a related field aredesired, but not required. Lighting design certifications, such as LC (Lighting Certified),are a plus. Proven experience in lighting design and engineering, preferably ina consulting or architectural firm. Familiarity with lighting design software (e.g., AGi32, Dialux) isbeneficial. T In-depth knowledge of lighting principles, photometry, and the useof lighting fixtures, controls, and technologies. Familiarity with lighting codes, standards, and regulations,including ASHRAE, IESNA, and energy codes. Proficiency in lighting design software, AutoCAD, and otherrelevant design tools. Strong design and creative skills to develop innovative lightingsolutions. Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey designconcepts and solutions to clients and project teams. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meetdeadlines. Keen attention to detail for accurate calculations and designs. Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively witharchitects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
