Position Summary
The PAC Technician will be responsible for the technical operations of the Performing Arts Center, including audio, lighting, rigging, stage management, and maintenance of all related equipment and systems. The PAC Technician will report to the Director of the Performing Arts Center and work closely with the Fine Arts Division, external clients, and performers to ensure the successful execution of all events and performances. The PAC Technical plays a critical role in ensuring the success and safety of all performances and events at Enterprise State Community College. This position requires a strong background in theater technology, excellentanizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Audio Management:

Oversee the design, setup, and operation of audio systems for performances, rehearsals, and events. Ensure high-quality sound production, including microphone placement, sound mixing, and recording. Maintain and repair audio equipment and coordinate the rental or purchase of additional audio resources as needed.

Lighting Design, Visual Effects, and Operation:

Design, program, and operate lighting systems to enhance performance and events. Collaborate with directors and event coordinators to create lighting plots that meet the artistic and technical needs of each production. Maintain and repair lighting equipment, including fixtures, consoles, and dimming systems. Run video projections, screens, and special effects when required.

Rigging and Stage Management:

Supervise the installation and operation of rigging systems, including fly systems, trusses, curtains, and other overhead equipment. Ensure all rigging practices meet safety standards and regulations. Oversee stage setup and strike, including the coordination of set construction, prop placement, and scene changes. Manage and oversee all efforts in the scene shop, ensuring proper usage and safety protocols are being met.

Facility Safety and Equipment Maintenance:

Regularly inspect and maintain all technical equipment, including audio, lighting, rigging, stage machinery, stage rigging, and safety systems.
Coordinate with the Facilities Department to ensure the PAC is maintained in top operational condition. Manage the inventory of technical equipment and rmend upgrades or replacements as needed.
Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures for all technical equipment purchases. Follow and enforce safety protocols for electrical, rigging, and backstage operations.
Ensurepliance with fire codes, OSHA regulations, and venue policies.

Event Coordination and Technical Support:

Collaborate with internal and external clients to plan and execute events, providing technical expertise and support. Lead technical rehearsals and ensure that all technical aspects of a performance are functioning correctly.
Provide on-site technology support during events, including troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise.

Team Leadership and Training:

Supervise and train technical staff, student workers, and volunteers involved in PAC operations. Foster a collaborative and professional working environment within the technical team.

Administrative Duties:

Rmend to the Director of Performing Arts Center all budget needs for technical operations, including equipment purchases, maintenance, and staffing.
Coordinate with the Director of Performing Arts Center to ensure all technical needs are met for scheduled events. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inventory, and usage.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of theater safety standards and practices.
Proficiency with industry-standard audio and lighting software and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Stronganizational andmunication skills. Strong public relations skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree or higher in Technical Theater, Performing Arts Technology, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical theater, audio, lighting, rigging, and/or stage management.
Experience in an education ormunity college setting preferred.
Ability to obtain certification in rigging, lighting, or audio systems, e.g., the Entertainment Technician within the first year of employment.
Ability to obtain certification Program (ETCP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) within the first year of employment.

SALARY:

Salary Schedule C3 C$46,496 – $76,549, to be determined by the applicant’s education and years of applicable experience. Applicant acknowledges that if selected for the position that applicant’s placement on the applicable salary schedule will be dependent upon the verified information provided.
