Lighting Specialist Responsibilities:

Play a critical role inleading lighting projects, ensuring effective design, energyefficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Take a leadership role in developing lighting designs for a varietyof projects, including commercial, residential, and industrialapplications. Provide expert-level technical support to the lighting design team,including creating lighting layouts, conducting photometricanalysis, and specifying fixtures and controls. Develop detailed lighting specifications, ensuring that all designsadhere to industry standards and client requirements. Stay current with emerging lighting technologies and products, andlead the selection of appropriate fixtures and controls forprojects. Champion the integration of energy-efficient lighting solutions,including LED technologies, lighting controls, and daylightharvesting systems. Conduct thorough site visits to inspect lighting installations,verify compliance with design specifications, and resolve complextechnical issues. Collaborate closely with clients to identify their specificlighting needs and preferences, offering expert guidance andinnovative solutions. Oversee and maintain detailed project records, including designplans, specifications, compliance reports, and as-builtdocumentation. Stay up to date with lighting-related regulations, codes, andstandards, ensuring that designs are in full compliance. Lead and mentor junior team members, foster collaboration withlighting engineers, electrical engineers, and other professionals,and ensure the seamless integration of lighting designs withoverall project plans.

Lighting Specialist Requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree inelectrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a relatedfield. 10 to 15 years of professional experience in lighting design orrelated roles. Proficiency in advanced lighting design software and photometricanalysis tools. Expert-level knowledge of lighting technologies, including LED,control systems, and energy-efficient solutions. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for clientinteractions, team leadership, and cross-disciplinarycollaboration. Strong project management skills and experience in projectdocumentation. A proven track record of successful lighting projects,demonstrating a commitment to quality and innovation. 10 to 15 years of experience is a senior figure in lightingprojects.
