Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Testing & Documentation Specialist to join our R D team at BASO Lighting. The specialist will test prototypes, perform electrical and photometric evaluations, ensure compliance with UL standards and NEC codes, and produce technical documentation including IES files, installation instructions, and assembly guides. Responsibilities Work alongside R D engineers to test and evaluate LED lighting prototypes for performance, reliability, and safety. Ensure all products meet applicable electrical and safety codes, particularly NEC and
UL 1598/8750
standards. Prepare and submit documentation packages for certification testing and audits. Perform photometric testing and generate IES files using integrating spheres, goniophotometers, and other industry-standard equipment. Create comprehensive installation instructions, assembly instructions, and user guides for end-users, contractors, and internal teams. Maintain detailed records of test data, revision histories, and compliance reports. Requirements Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills. Basic knowledge of CAD software creating exploded diagrams and visual aids. Preferred Skills Familiarity with LED drivers, dimming protocols (0-10V, DALI, DMX), and lighting controls. Experience working with external certification bodies (UL, ETL, CSA). Working knowledge of UL 1598, NEC, Title 24, and Energy Star requirements for lighting products.
