Part Time Theater Technician (20-25 hours per week) 2.6 2.6 out of 5 stars Windermere, FL 34786 Part Time Theatre Technician (20 – 25 hours per week) Windermere Preparatory School is looking for a Part Time Theatre Technician to support technical and clerical needs for school performances and events. The Theatre Technician will display a flexible attitude, and will undertake varying roles as dictated by performance and rehearsal requirements in an educational setting. He/she will assist in the safe operation and maintenance of theatre audio, lighting, video and related equipment and systems used in suport of the theatrical productions, music concerts, dance shows, school assemblies, meetings, and related events.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Assists with a wide variety of tech needs for productions, assemblies and events including, but not limited to audio, video, lighting, rigging, scenic and props. Assist set designer with the scenic construction, staging and painting when needed. Set up, operate and strike meetings and events Acts as technical liaison for events when the Technical Theatre Manager is not present. Coaches Middle and High school Thespians for competition in the technical fields including the competitie one act at competition locations Monitor the condition of equipment including lighting, sound, projection, rigging and other theatrical systems, reports maintenance needs to the Technical Theatre Manager. Provide front of the house assistance on performance dates monitoring student volunteers performing usering and ticket scanning tasks. Stay up to date on current trends in the production industry and seek out ways to expand skill sets. Assist a variety of clerical office duties and advance preparation for facility usage.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience as a theater technician. Experience in Digital Audio Equipment and can mentor students to provide quality audio for live performances and events. Posses a valid US Driver’s License for the ability to drive a uhaul and travel for competitions. Ability to program an ion XE lighting console Basic carpentry and craft skills. Flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

EDUCATION
