Technology Specialist II (AV/Theater Technician) 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 400 East Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves, MO 63119 ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
Schedule and log facilities and equipment upkeep and maintenance, cleaning, and renovation Assist with special events (e.g., after graduation party, pep rallies, cafeteria meetings, banquets) Operate audiovisual equipment in the athletic complex for school and district activities Coordinate with the administrators and athletic director for student activity and/or athletic scheduling requiring audiovisual assistance Able to read schematic diagrams, technical manuals relating to auditorium/audio visual equipment and interpret instructions Able to safely operate all auditorium equipment, within and outside of the auditorium Able to effectively supervise student workers Able to follow written and oral instructions Ability to write reports and business correspondence Set up and operate theatrical lighting, sound, and rigging equipment Supporting and providing technical support to the WGSD website; training provided Clean and return Webster Groves School District spaces to original condition when the event is finished Work with the custodial department at the designated location to ensure space is locked up and secure Supervise groups using Webster Groves School District facilities Requires ability to operate theater equipment Requires customer service skills Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail Perform other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to interact effectively with WGSD staff members, community groups, and students of all ages Ability to work flexibly Basic knowledge of use and operation of theatrical lighting, sound, and rigging systems Ability to lift 20 pounds
QUALIFICATIONS
Four-year college degree in theatre management, fine arts or related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience Reliable transportation to and from various events Operation of theatrical sound & lighting consoles Minimum of one year prior experience in the field preferred
