Theatre Technician Hip to Hip Theatre Company 5240 39th Dr, Woodside, NY 11377 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for the performing arts, particularly in dance and theater, and will be responsible for supporting various technical aspects of productions. This role requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to educate others about technical processes and equipment. Hip to Hip Theatre Company is dedicated to stimulating and developing interest in the theatre arts in underserved communities by providing free, family-friendly, professional productions of popular classics, and free theatre workshops for children, in public spaces. Duties Collaborate with production teams to ensure all technical requirements are met for performances. Set up and operate lighting, sound, and stage equipment for rehearsals and shows. Educate cast and crew on the proper use of technical equipment. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate schedules and troubleshoot issues. Write detailed reports on equipment performance and maintenance needs. Assist in the design and implementation of stage layouts for various productions. Participate in public speaking engagements to promote upcoming events or educational workshops. Qualifications Strong background or interest in dance, theater, or performing arts. Experience with ballet or other forms of dance is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to educate others on technical processes in an engaging manner. Previous experience in a technical role within theater or event production is preferred but not required. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing environments.
