Job Title Production Lighting Technician Salary $15-25 per hour Job Type Contractor Job Summary We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and creative individuals to join our team. As a Lighting Technician you may be responsible for assisting with the prep, truck pack, load-in, setup, focus, operation, strike and/or de-prep for our various productions across our season. We ask for our technicians to be flexible and willing to assist with any special projects that may arise during their shifts or productions. You will be working closely with the CEO, Project Managers and Office Manager. Essential Job Functions Assist with show prep in the Ephrata shop. This can include pulling orders, testing gear, labeling fixtures, addressing fixtures, pre-programming, cable looming and pre-rigging. Assist with packing cargo trailers, vans and/or box trucks for transportation to show sites. Assist with the unpacking of vehicles at show sites and bringing gear into the venue. Assist with the setup of the lighting, video, or audio equipment for various types of productions, including but not limited to theatres, stadiums, arenas, small venues, reception halls, etc. Assist with focus and aiming of lighting and projection equipment. This can include white balancing, color correcting and aligning for various types of equipment. When requested or required, board operation for productions as well as followspot or camera operators may be needed on a per production basis. When the production is complete, you may be working on the team to strike and take down the equipment that we provided. Sometimes you may be on both the load in and strike crew, other times you may be on one or the other depending on availability. When the gear is packed up, it is returned to our shop and de-prep begins. You may assist with our quality control (QC) process and check-in after a production is complete. Regular Shop Labor is needed, and you may be offered additional work depending on experience with the equipment in our inventory.
Requirements / Qualifications
Excellent oral, written, and communication skills. 1+ years of experience in entertainment production industry. Experience reading production documentation and/or plots is preferred. Experience in production lighting, video, audio, or rigging is also preferred. Willingness to learn and grow with the company is highly desirable. Excellent multitasking skills Great leadership skills Critical thinker and problem-solving skills Team player Good time-management skills Professional demeanor and presentation, especially when in the presence or when working directly with clients.
