Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of utility-owned streetlights. Capable of receiving and following directions Conduct pre-job planning based on job prints and work orders Identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit Able to utilize underground pulling equipment Support safety initiatives using personal protective equipment Ability to setup work zone according to DOT standards Understands minimum approach distance, excavation, and shoring Ability to maintain, check out, position, and safely operate bucket truck Basic understanding of tools and materials used in line work These duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive and may change to meet the priorities and ongoing needs of the company.
Qualifications and Requirements:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Advanced ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, work orders, instructions, and procedures Understands equipment and work site set up and grounding Accurately perform basic math calculations to include addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, and the use of measurements Proficiency in critical thinking, trouble shooting, and problem resolution Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and nonverbal) Requires self-motivation, organization, and prioritization management Proficient knowledge of OSHA standards and guidelines High School Diploma or equivalent Technical degree, 1-3 years’ field experience, extensive mechanical ability, or a combination of education and/or experience CDL A (preferred) or the ability to obtain
