Average Hours Per Week:

40-45 Summary The AVL Department Assistant will support the Audio, Video and Lighting department managers in their daily tasks of planning and implementing equipment deployment across all areas of live event production. The assistant will also oversee equipment sub-rentals ensuring appropriate equipment has arrived before the event and that all equipment is returned to the vendor after the event Qualifications & Skills Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Understanding of broadcast video systems and professional LED wall equipment Familiarity with professional live event production lighting equipment, practices and troubleshooting procedures for systems of all sizes Understanding of audio system design and deployment General knowledge of audio and video equipment as it relates to the live event production environment Experience with Vectorworks preferred Job Responsibilities Assist department managers as needed with system design and documentation Produce and export documentation for on-site event techs Work with the warehouse team to build custom racks for events as needed, following all required prep and de-prep procedures Work with department heads and logistics coordinator to arrange for sub-rented equipment deliveries and pickups Assist with ensuring shipping and return dates/times for pullsheets match logistic plans for each event Other responsibilities as assigned Working Conditions This position is a mix of desk work in a climate controlled office setting and hands on physical labor in a warehouse environment with limited climate control. Typical working hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasionally, department needs may require willingness to work earlier mornings, later evenings, and/or weekends.
