The Director of Preconstruction will lead the preconstruction efforts for commercial projects, ensuring accurate and efficient estimating, planning, and management from project inception through to construction. This role is crucial in establishing project budgets, schedules, and preliminary designs while collaborating closely with project teams and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the preconstruction team, providing guidance and support throughout the preconstruction phase.
Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates and budgets for commercial construction projects.
Develop, implement, and maintain preconstruction processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to assess project feasibility and develop preliminary designs.
Conduct value engineering analyses to optimize project costs and schedules without compromising quality.
Review and analyze project specifications and drawings to prepare accurate estimations and identify potential challenges.
Present preconstruction plans and budgets to clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of project scope and objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a preconstruction management role.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
Proven experience in estimating and managing commercial construction projects.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
