The Athletics Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Video Director, Men’s Basketball to work in Coral Gables, FL. The Video Director is responsible for assisting the Head Coach, Director of Basketball Operations, and Recruiting Coordinator with all aspects of the Men’s Basketball program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Scouting and Analytics + Scouting Schedule – coordinate with Coach + Utilize SportsCode software to break down games for analysis + Self scout University of Miami Men’s Basketball team videos for offensive and defensive sets, special strategies and individual players’ tendencies + Film, code and distribute practice and game tapes to coaching staff + Maintain current video and computer hardware and advise department on existing equipment and possible future upgrades + Transport, set up and monitor video equipment for meeting, practices and games at home and on the road + Liaison for Miami Men’s Basketball for ACC and NCAA needs + Provide statistical analytics on Miami team, opponents, offense, defense and recruits 2. Men’s Basketball Film Exchange Program + Build and maintain a working relationship with other NCAA Men’s Basketball Programs, providing direct customer service when necessary + Identify and resolve challenges to delivery of quality customer service, resolving situations within own authority, involving others as appropriate to maintain professional image of the University of Miami and the Men’s Basketball Program + Practice own discretion to dub tapes for exchange with opposing teams and within Atlantic Coast Conference guidelines + Utilizes SportsCode software to copy and send out / upload Miami game films to requesting institutions + Obtain game film on opponents for scouting + Responsible for taping all opponent games and other college basketball games as requested, including televised games 3. Practice + Type practice plan, copy and distribute to staff + Ensure practice set-up is correct with managers and equipment needs + Collect and properly file or dispose of practice plans at the end of practice 4. Gameday duties + KM Board + Live capture and coding of game film with managerial assistance + Smartboard in Locker Room + Post-Game Folders + Post-game labeling and cut-ups for Head Coach analysis 5. Assist with Recruiting + Videos + In-home recruiting video presentation + Mailouts + Social media + On-Campus Recruiting Assistant 6. Other video services + Video library for internal use + Video teaching clips for high school coaches + Oversee HYPE videos for each game – Coordinator of Creative Media and Recruiting Assistant to manage + Special events 7. Creative content assistant for social media, recruiting + Work with Digital Strategy Team/ Coordinator of Creative Media and Recruiting Assistant to maximize exposure and good publicity + Recruiting – keep UM relevant and fresh with most up-to-date digital exposure 8. Recruit and supervise managerial staff + Coordinate schedule + Supervise on road trips 9. Camp coordinator + Schedule with University departments + Advertisement + Background screening of employees + Coordinate daily camp activities 10. Completes special assignments which require collecting, organizing and analyzing data and producing reports which may be the basis of significant decisions for Head Men’s Basketball Coach. 11. Travel to all away contests. 12. Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental policies and procedures. 14. Assist with local coaching clinics and camps
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate area of specialization is required; and two years of working in college athletics, specifically men’s basketball preferred.
