Job Description

Assistant Director, Sports Medicine & Head Athletic Trainer 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars 5800 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota, FL 34243 Description This position provides administrative and direct service for sports medicine. This position will also act as head athletic trainer. Examples of Duties Coordinate schedules for athletic trainers and athletic teams for treatment and athletic training oversight during games and practices. Provide athletic training to NCF students Maintain and coordinate electronic medical records, which includes ensuring that documentation is complete and up-to-date for patients Coordinate medical care for injured athletes to outside medical referrals Coordinate between athlete and secondary insurance Coordinate with counseling services for athletes in need of clinical or sports performance interventions Coordinate inventory, which includes monthly reports/documentation, providing requests for new supplies, and maintenance of equipment Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Masters in Athletic Training and must be a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in Florida and credentialed as Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC) If active or with a history of physical or mental health condition, must provide a letter from a licensed health care practitioner, who is qualified by skills and training to address the condition identified, which explains the impact the condition may have on the ability to practice the profession with reasonable skill and safety. The letter must specify that the applicant is safe to practice the profession without restrictions or specifically indicate the restrictions that are necessary to enable performance of the essential functions. Preferred Qualifications Four (4) years working in athletic training related areas. Worked at least two (2) of those years in collegiate settings.
