PRIMARY FUNCTION

: The Director of Talent Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the recruitment, staffing, onboarding, and retention of all certified and classified staff. This position implements initiatives that support the district’s goals of attracting, developing, and retaining a high-quality, student-focused workforce. The Director ensures compliance with federal, state, and district regulations while promoting equitable and efficient hiring practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education Level:

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. 2.

Experience, Skill, and Certification:

Valid Georgia Clear-renewable certificate in any teaching or leadership field At least three years of professional educational or HR-related experience in a leadership, administrative, or supervisory role. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively across multiple departments and levels with a minimum of direction or supervision. Ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands regularly. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Skilled in the use of social media platforms. Knowledge of teacher competencies and ability to identify high quality teachers based on resumes, assessments, and interviews. Knowledge of personnel policies, procedures, laws and regulations is required. Must be able to interpret and explain rules, policies, and procedures, and to apply them appropriately Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, communication and presentations skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Supervise and lead the day-to-day operations of Talent Services staff, including specialists, clerks, and support personnel. 2. Develop and implement recruitment and staffing plans for all position types (certified and classified). 3. Coordinate full-cycle recruitment efforts, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding. 4. Ensure adherence to certification, licensure, and qualification requirements for all positions. 5. Support schools and departments in the hiring process, including interview protocols, certification guidance, and staffing recommendations. 6. Oversee onboarding procedures, background checks, and employee records management. 7. Manage the district’s voluntary transfer processes. 8. Maintain accurate data for CPI, PQ reports, and other compliance submissions. 9. Collaborate with the Executive Director to align staffing efforts with district priorities. 10. Provide professional learning and guidance to school and department leaders on staffing and evaluation tools (TKES/LKES/GaLEADS). 11. Ensure high-quality customer service for internal and external stakeholders. 12. Assist with the design and implementation of retention strategies. 13. Serve as a liaison with GaPSC and other external agencies. 14. Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 250 days. Salary will be determined based on level of certification and allowable experience. Exempt. Rev. 5/2025 NON-ESSENTIAL
