Compensation Overview The annual base salary range provided forthis position is a nationwide market range and represents a broadrange of salaries for this role across the country. The actualsalary for this position will be determined by a number of factors,including the scope, complexity and location of the role; theskills, education, training, credentials and experience of thecandidate; and other conditions of employment. We have an exciting opportunityfor you on the Business Insurance Actuarial Product Auto team! Asthe Commercial Auto Benchmark and Data Modernization Lead, you willbe primarily responsible for leading high-profile initiative ofdeveloping the new commercial auto benchmark model (TCAP) benchmarkcapabilities (both GLM and GBM) and influencing data modernizationand batch rating tool initiatives with strong data and batch ratingknowledge. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaboratewith various teams across the organization including modeling,product, IT, and business units to drive highly visible projectsand initiatives and lead a dedicated team of three analysts. TheSr. Director, Actuarial and Analytics is an analytic leadershiprole that is responsible for assigned unit typically involved inreserving, rate-making, pricing, planning/forecasting, projectmanagement and research. This role is expected execute strategicand operational initiatives, drive change within assigned unit andinfluence leaders up to the VP level with business partners inassigned area, and share ownership of business financial results.

The Sr. Director, Actuarial and Analytics will work within broadlimits and authority on complex initiatives requiring specializedknowledge and expertise in breadth and/or depth in several of thefollowing areas: Actuarial and/or research methods Advancedstatistical analyses Broad business knowledge In-depth Line ofBusiness knowledge Broader awareness of enterprise Actuarial &Analytics community This role may lead a team. What Will You Do?

Strategy:

Assess, prioritize, influence and communicate strategicinitiative options to senior leaders. Demonstrate effectiveexecution and completion of assigned strategic initiatives andprojects. Generate and advocate for process improvements andactively propel innovation in alignment with existing strategy.

This position will lead assigned unit strategic initiatives andcross-unit initiatives and is expected to participate in Enterpriseinitiatives on a limited basis.

Operational:

Independently performactuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems andapply judgment appropriately. Drive day to day execution withinunit. Begin to drive broad department initiatives. Promoteefficiency across primary working group, balancing additionaleffort against incremental lift gained from work. Make decisionsindependently in accordance with department practices. Consistentlyprovide direction and review others’ analytical work. Begin totranslate ambiguous business needs into analytical solutions.

Provide support as necessary for initiatives across the Enterprisewithin the scope of influence.

Communication:

Communicates on aregular basis with staff, peers and business partners and on anoccasional basis with senior leaders. Tailors communication ofanalysis, project results, and other business initiatives toaudience. Communicates technical topics to non-technical audiences.

Leads group discussions with primary working group. Creates formalwritten communication such as memos or presentations. Able toinfluence and collaborate with peers and partners to take actionsto enhance business outcomes.

Talent:

Staff responsibilities arelikely to include direct management of a small team of individualcontributors. Acquisition, retention, and development of talent forassigned unit. Execute and communicate talent developmentprocesses, including performance and personal development goals.

Succession planning and talent assessment recommendations.

Performance management. Support staff engagement cross Enterpriseinitiatives. Mentor less experienced talent across the Enterprise.

Onboard new employees and interns in unit. Support various trainingand skill development initiatives across Segment and theEnterprise. May provide support for recruiting efforts andcandidate talent assessment efforts. Perform other duties asassigned. What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have? College degree inSTEM related field. Associate Actuarial Credential preferred. 8years of quantitative analysis experience. Strong understanding ofinsurance products and industry. Demonstrated ability in actuarialand quantitative analysis and statistical concepts. Leadershipexperience. Excellent communication, collaboration andrelationship-building skills. Excellent communication skills withthe ability to present and translate complex information toleadership and non-technical teams. Strong PC skills (MS Office)and programming skills (eg.

SQL, SAS

).

Leadership:

Begins tochallenge conventional thinking. Takes ownership of projectsrelated to strategic initiatives and often makes independentrecommendations to influence business outcomes. Proficient inLeading Self including exhibiting decisiveness and self-awarenesswhile also effectively managing ambiguity. Development of LeadingOthers including modeling the way for others and leading cross-unitprojects. Initial development of Leading the Business includingactively engaging in driving business results, broad thinking andpromoting an Enterprise culture.

Business Acumen:

Has an in-depthunderstanding and knowledge of certain key business drivers anddisciplines such as: underwriting, products, reinsurance,distribution, sales, operations, risk control, claim, andfinancials. Able to effectively utilize this business knowledge indeveloping and implementing analytic solutions. Has perspective onthe industry and developing trends, including: technology, analyticmethodology, products, and performance of competitors. Is familiarwith most other key business drivers and disciplines.

RelationshipManagement:

Proactively build and own professional businessrelationships across the Enterprise. Generate and solicit ideas,and drive consensus Aware of potential conflict and addressproactively. Acknowledge accomplishments of others to broaderorganization. Set and manage expectations with business partnersfor portfolio of projects. Quantitative Analysis:

Ableto introduce innovative techniques to both new and existingproblems. Independently perform and implement complex analytics.

Leads and actively engages in technical/peer reviews. Regularlyoffers technical consultative feedback. Can assess varioustechnical solutions to optimize analytical outcomes. Occasionallyrecognizes emerging issues that require a quantitative solutionwithin own portfolio of work. What is a Must Have? Bachelors Degreeor equivalent experience required. 5 years of comprehensivequantitative analysis experience required. What Is in It for You?
