POSITION SUMMARY
The VP of Media Services has two primary responsibilities
- you’ll be the most senior media lead on Fortune 100 client, and you’ll be an integral part in shaping Burrell’s overarching media offering.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leading client business: Spearhead the development, presentation, and implementation of holistic media strategies on a key, fast-paced strategic piece of business Serve as key media visionary and client advisor, building relationships with key agency stakeholders at every level of the organization Showcase ability to interpret and leverage audience segmentation data, personas, and/or modeling to uncover strong consumer insights to drive media strategy Manage financial and budget forecasting, including media budget planning, agency scope, and fee Produce strategic thought-leadership across internal and external teams as well as with the client Ensure integration across other departments including Account Management, Strategy/Research, and Creative teams Manage and develop a team of media specialists through goal setting, 1 on 1s, training, etc. Teach and ensure accountability of your team’s media expertise and executional excellence
- including media budget management, billing, team structure, and execution Leading our business: Act as a key leader in agency growth
- including new business, organic opportunities, media community participation, cultural initiatives, and team training Inspire creativity in our media offering through a multicultural audience lens Develop a proactive approach to partnerships (who do we want to meet with and why), leading the relationship/contract design in addition to unlocking unique opportunities for our clients Be an advocate in evolving our approach with everything from simple process and communication improvements to thinking about how we elevate and streamline the team’s work through technology, partners, etc
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required A minimum of 12 years of progressive integrated media planning experience required (digital and linear) 5+ years of team management experience required Multicultural media planning and/or buying experience, preferably African American media Highly energetic and a self-starter with a passion for media strategy and innovation Able to multitask complex media planning, production schedules, and client-facing initiatives with shifting priorities Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence C-suite executives and media partners Above average proficiency with primary media planning tools (e.g. Nielsen NMI planning tool, Prisma, Guideline/MediaTools, Microsoft Suite, Comscore, Vivvix, etc.) Knowledge of media buying platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, programmatic DSPs) Knowledge of applicable Local, State, and Federal regulations related to media content, advertising standards, and digital compliance (e.g., FCC, FTC, GDPR, CCPA) Knowledge of the automotive category is preferable, but not mandatory Experience working across an integrated agency team
