Sales Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 6 Sales Representatives across the US, empowering them to achieve and exceed sales targets within large pharma and biotech accounts.
- Oversee day-to-day sales operations, including pipeline management, territory planning, and performance tracking for the team.
- Actively participate in the recruitment, mentorship, professional development, and performance evaluation of team members.
Customer Engagement & Account Growth:
- Support the sales team in building and expanding strong relationships with key stakeholders and high-value customers within large pharma and biotech organizations.
- Collaborate with the team to identify new opportunities, enhance account penetration, and drive sales growth for biological reagents in the biopharma sector.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategy Execution:
- Collaborate closely with Business Leaders, Product Managers, and Marketing & Sales Managers to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategic commercial initiatives specific to the biopharma sector.
- Provide valuable market intelligence to the organization, offering insights on customer trends, market developments, and competitive activities relevant to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of market penetration and lead generation initiatives.
Performance & Operational Excellence:
- Ensure compliance with sales forecasting processes, periodic business reviews, and contract negotiations specific to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets.
- Maintain a high degree of engagement and visibility in the field, working alongside the sales team and engaging with key customers.
Qualifications:
Who you are and what you bring to the team… Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related life science field. 7-10 years of progressive sales experience within the life science industry, with a strong focus on the biopharma and/or drug discovery & development customer segments. 3-5 years of demonstrated sales management experience, successfully leading and developing sales teams. Proven ability to build and motivate a high-performing sales team. Strong strategic thinking with the ability to understand complex business dynamics and contribute to achieving commercial objectives. A strong network within biopharma and proven ability to leverage business contacts to uncover opportunities. Proficiency with sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through Salesforce CRM and other designated IT tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse customer audiences (scientific leaders, researchers, procurement, etc.). Ideally, you have… Master’s Degree or MBA. 1+ years of hands-on laboratory experience, particularly with antibody applications. Physical Conditions/Requirements… Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays.
